Special dates can now overrule public holidays

Special dates can now overrule public holidays for individual resources — let one employee work on a holiday while the rest of the team stays off, without touching shared settings.

2 min read

One employee wants to work on a public holiday while the rest of the team is off — now you can handle it with a single setting, no calendar gymnastics required.

The problem this solves

It's a public holiday. All resources are closed. But one employee — let's call her Maria — has agreed to take appointments that day.

Previously, the only way to make Maria available while keeping everyone else off was to either delete the public holiday in Hubhus for everyone, or manually create events in the calendar to block each of the other employees individually. Neither option was clean or scalable.

What you get

How to set it up

  1. Go to Calendar settings → Special dates and create a new special date.

  2. Set the date to the public holiday, select the resource(s) who should work, and configure their hours for that day.

  3. Set Overrule closed dates (holidays) to Yes and save. Those resources are now bookable on that day — everyone else stays off.

Where to find it

The Overrule closed dates (holidays) field is part of the special date form under Calendar settings → Special dates.
